© Антон Харин TOMSK, Oct 30 – RIA Tomsk. The Russian language learning center for migrant children start working on
the basis of the regional center for the development of education in Tomsk; 50
teachers will conduct classes, 100 children will become the first students, the
director of the center for educational development Nadezhda Lyzhina reported
RIA Tomsk on Tuesday.
According to her, teachers of the institution, which opened in Tomsk on the
basis of the regional center for educational development (Tatarskaya street,
16), will teach migrant children the Russian language as non-native. There was
no such institution in the Tomsk region before.
“We work with children who do not speak or have poorly know Russian
language, we organize training for them ... Fifty teachers improve their
qualifications in programs for teaching children the Russian as non-native.
They are trained by teachers of our center, Tomsk universities, and Moscow and
St. Petersburg universities”, – Lyzhina reported.
According to her, children are trained in mini-groups of up to eight people
and individually with teachers. This school year, 100 children will attend
classes. According to preliminary data from the center for the development of
education, in the Tomsk region there are more than 500 non-native children
(carriers of a foreign language – Ed.) who need Russian language training or
additional classes to improve their knowledge.
The interlocutor added that the center also implements programs for all
members of migrant families. Psychologists, speech pathologists and speech
therapists will conduct classes with them.
