TOMSK, Nov 25 – RIA Tomsk. The decade of the Russian language will be held at Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) from November 26 to December 5, foreign students of TPU and other Tomsk universities will take part in it, the organizer of the event Marina Bokhonnaya informed RIA Tomsk.
According to her, the decade of the Russian language
is held at TPU annually to improve the language culture of university students.
This year, within the framework of the decade, for the first time will take
place digital poetry contest where students will “read Russian numbers in a
rhyme” and a video presentation contest, in which foreign students will
demonstrate their achievements in learning Russian.
"On Monday (November 26), in the 19th building of
TPU (Usov street, 4a), the first round of the Decade of the Russian language
will take place, where more than 60 of our foreign students will read poems of
Russian poets. <...> They especially like Pushkin’s poems "If life
deceives you", "I remember a wonderful moment", Simonov's
"Wait for me", Lermontov’s "Motherland", Yevtushenko's
"Here is what is happening to me", – Bokhonnaya said.

She added that also within the framework of the decade
for Russian-speaking students of 1-2 courses there will be a master class "We
are steering the course on termpaper" where the experts will tell how to
write research papers in correct way. For employees of the university will be
held an intellectual game "What? Where? When?".
"On the final day, December 5, there will be a
gala concert at the International Cultural Centre of TPU, where foreign
students will present musical numbers. In addition, foreign students from other
Tomsk universities will also read the favorite poems of the Russian poets and
sing Russian songs as part of the second round of the competition of

According to the TPU website, TPU students from China,
Mongolia, Vietnam, the Czech Republic, Poland and African countries, as well as
foreign students from TSU, TUSUR and TSPU will take part in the Decade of the
