TOMSK, Jan 24 – RIA Tomsk. The foreign trade turnover of enterprises and organizations of the Tomsk region in 2018 increased by 28,4%; at the same time, export in the structure of foreign trade turnover occupies 80%, mainly exported products are of forest and chemical industry, the head of the Tomsk customs Andrey Agashev told reporters on Tuesday.
According to the Tomsk customs, the foreign trade turnover of Tomsk enterprises and organizations in 2018 amounted to 373,6 million dollars. Compared with 2017, it increased by 28,4% or 82,5 million dollars. Following the results of foreign trade operations in 2018, 7,9 billion rubles of customs and other payments were transferred to the federal budget (in 2017 – 6,58 billion).
"Tomsk business adapted to the difficult foreign economic situation. For the second year, it shows an increase in foreign trade turnover mainly due to exports of chemicals and forest products. At the same time, imports decreased by almost 1%. The percentage of exports of local goods is about 80% of the total foreign trade turnover", – Agashev said at the press conference of RIA Tomsk.

Following the materials of the Tomsk customs, the volume of exports of Tomsk companies in 2018 amounted to 323.3 million dollars, while imports – 50.3 million dollars. The export structure is dominated by timber and lumber – 46,7%, as well as products of chemical industry – 45,6%. A small share of exports is occupied by machinery and equipment (5.2%), agricultural products (2,1%) and other goods (0,4%).
The main importers of timber and lumber from the Tomsk region in 2018 were Uzbekistan (growth of volumes of export in 1,7 times) and China (36,6% increase), and main importer of chemical products – is Finland (20,8% growth over the year).
In the structure of imports of goods in the Tomsk region in 2018 prevailed machinery and equipment (50,2%) and chemical products (36,8%). Food imports makes 9,2% of the total volume of imported goods, metals and products from them – 2,9%, other goods, including consumer goods – 0,9%, is explained in the materials of Tomsk customs.
