Tomsk. The Institute of Law of Tomsk State University (IL TSU) is ready to launch special courses on space law as part of the new master's program “Legal Enforcement of National Security” to graduate on request from Roscosmos and Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), the press service of the university reports on Thursday.
According to the press
service, Roskosmos and Russian Academy of Sciences consider it necessary to
begin training specialists in space law to defend the interests of Russia in
the case of territorial disputes during the exploration of the Moon. Institute
of Law of Tomsk State University Launching is ready to start relevant courses
at the request of Roskosmos and Russian Academy of Sciences in the near future.
"Institute of Law
of Tomsk State University is already conducting training on the "Legal
support of national security" direction (specialist programme), and now a
master's program is launched on this profile. With its implementation, the
university can train specialists in space law within the framework of the
international law", - is said in the statement.

With reference to the
director of the Research and Educational Center "Intellectual Property and
Intellectual Rights" of the Institute of Law of Tomsk State University
Azat Antonyan, it is noted that "in connection with the development of
space activities of China, the United States and Russia (China and the Russian
Federation make statements on the exploration of the Moon, the United States
discusses in the media flights to Mars and minerals mining on asteroids) space
law experts ... will be in demand in the next 10 years".
It is added that TSU
raised the issue of the need to train specialists in space law at the
international scientific symposium "Miner's Week 2017". The
participants of the event proposed to create a specialized international
service for the regulation of mining at space objects and the use of the
objects themselves.
Earlier it was reported
that TSU will also train engineers of a new type for the Central Mechanical
Engineering Research Institute - the head institute of Roscosmos, which has the
largest experimental base of rocket and space technology. It was noted that
engineers will be able to generate space trends.
