TOMSK, Mar 7 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) in the spring of 2019 will launch nine open online courses on the Russian platforms "Lektorium", "TPU-online" and Stepik, the press service of the university reported on Thursday.
Earlier it was reported that TPU conducts mass open online courses (MOOC) for schoolchildren and students in Russian, Chinese and English. With their help, students can independently organize their work. With the successful development of the MOOC, those entering the TPU receive additional points.
"The development of our own online platform - is one of the main directions of online education in TPU. It gives listeners the opportunity to choose educational goals and high-quality educational online products, use flexible formats and build an individual learning path", – the head of the TPU department on online training organizing Evgeny Isaev is quoted in the message.
It is added that the online educational platform will help the university to introduce a system for confirming the results of online exams.
According to the press service, in the spring on the platforms "Lektorium" and Stepik the course “Engineering for the Future” will be launched. It is created for schoolchildren, applicants and anyone who is interested in engineering. "With its help listeners will be able to learn how to make money in cyberspace, and try to construct 3D models of space equipment elements", – is noted in the report.
Also on "Lektorium" and Stepik start online courses "Tomography: to see the invisible" (dedicated to the capabilities of non-destructive testing technologies) and "Logistics itself. Developing entrepreneurial thinking", which will help in the development of entrepreneurial thinking in management decision-making. In addition, "The myths and realities of stones" and "History of Russia" are posted on "Lektorium".

"On the platform "TPU-online" will be implemented online courses of narrow engineering orientation – "Nanostructured ceramics" and "Clean energy on solid fuels – it is real", as well as online courses in English – "Introduction to Petroleum Engineering" and "Myths and Facts About Rocks", – is added in the message.
Online courses of TPU are available on the resource "One window", created within the framework of the federal project "Modern Digital Educational Environment in the Russian Federation". These courses are available absolutely for everyone. A student who has successfully completed the training will be able to recount the results of the passing of this subject in his university.
