First eSports Championship of the Tomsk region to be held at weekend

TOMSK, Apr 12 – RIA Tomsk. The first official championship of the Tomsk region in computer sports will be held on April 13 and 14; according to results, the cybersport team of the Tomsk region will be formed, which will go to the Russian competitions, the representative of the regional branch of the Federation of computer sport of Russia Dmitry Shulgin reported RIA Tomsk.

"We received official accreditation for two years. We started issuing the first categories. As far as I remember, now we have 18 boys wuth sports categories. The first official eSports championship of the region will take place on April 13 and 14 (Saturday and Sunday). Participants will now have to go medical examination and submit a specific application form", – Shulgin commented.

He added that registered participants will compete online, from anywhere.

According to the interlocutor, earlier similar championships in the region were held, but they were open – anyone could take part in them. With the receipt of accreditation by the Tomsk Federation of computer sport, the competitions began to have an official character, and now there are certain requirements for the participants: it is necessary to be a citizen of the Russian Federation and have permanent or temporary registration in the Tomsk region.

Shulgin added that the winners of the regional championship will be a part of the team of the Tomsk region and will go to the All-Russian competitions. The composition of the team involves a team of five people, winning the discipline "Fighting Arena" in the game Dota 2, and one person winning the discipline "Real-time Strategy" in the game ClashRoyale.
