TOMSK, Jul 25 - RIA Tomsk. Rectors of four Tomsk universities and the deputy governor of the Tomsk region for scientific and educational complex Lyudmila Ogorodova on Thursday met with journalists at the RIA Tomsk media center and summed up the results of their participation in the Skoltech’s intensive course “Island”. Earlier it was reported that Tomsk State University (TSU), Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU), Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radio Electronics (TUSUR), Tomsk State University of Architecture and Building (TSUAB) were included in hundred of universities invited to Skoltech’s “Island” training intensive course, which passed from 10 to July 22 in Moscow. Its goal - is to create teams of the regional universities which will be able to make changes in training for the digital economy.

According to Ogorodova, “Island” - is a specially created platform for the inclusion of scientific and educational organizations in the program of digitization of the economy.
“The task of the “Island” - is to talk about the projects of digital universities and the entry of universities and scientific organizations into the digital economy. 54 people participated in four Tomsk teams. Since Tomsk has high competencies in digitalization of education and science, the interaction with business is quite high, almost every participant acted like teacher, head of master classes", - Ogorodova said.

Earlier it was reported that the Tomsk delegation, participating in the intensive course "Island 10-22", presented the project of the Tomsk Scientific and Educational Center of the world level (SEC) and received high expert evaluation for it.
“Our concept was radically different from the regional infrastructure projects that were presented in other programs. It differed with new, original, approaches. Such ambition can not be taken if we do not unite the scale. Therefore, we create a “Big University” campus in the form of environment and new activity, we reload the education export agenda”, - Ogorodova commented.

“Events such as "Island" are extremely important for the development of professional skills”, - said the acting rector of TPU Petr Chubik, sharing his opinion with journalists. - You know that soft subject skills - such as communication and teamwork are extremely important today. Tomsk delegation demonstrated them during the "Island".
He reminded that, according to research results, 70% of a person’s competences are acquired not through formal education, but through communication.
Chubik also voiced the results of participation in the intensive course for the team of Polytechnic University: "A memorandum was signed in which there are seven organizations. This is the project on preventive medicine, in which TPU plays the role of creation tools for the microelement composition of blood, environment, food. We have these competences".
Also, TPU has worked out a roadmap for entering the competence center of NTI "New production technologies" . "We enter there with our methods of non-destructive testing of composite materials, products, which are obtained by additive technologies. An agreement was reached to create on the platform of TPU two NTI accelerators - youth projects and technological, with the participation of all Tomsk universities", - he said.

TPU has also concluded an agreement with Ural Federal University on an educational program for project-based training. “And finally, 100 universities, including ours, signed a memorandum of cooperation on networking in the field of artificial intelligence”, - summarized the acting rector of TPU.

TSUAB team was actively pumped through with new competencies. We established many connections, there still 100 universities participated in the main program. It was a global crowd of active people from universities who will continue to work further. The total number of participants of the “Island” - is about 1500 people” - the rector of TSUAB Viktor Vlasov commented.
He told reporters that TSUAB presented the "Moving Up" project - creation of online community of professionals in the field of architecture and construction.
“We caught up with coverage of 50000 people. The point is that the professions market is rapidly changing, the traditional education at the university does not allow us to react to changes very quickly. We decided to create a community that will educate itself. New fast methods. This year we intend to introduce it. This will be training through online courses", - the rector explained.
Vlasov added that TSUAB also concluded a number of agreements. "In particular, we participated in the signing of agreements on artificial intelligence. Now this sphere - is like a fog over Tomsk: it covers the whole country and the whole world. We all need to participate in this process".

“There were 14 people in the TUSUR team”, - said Alexander Shelupanov, the rector of the university. “We discussed the creation of the SEC. As one of its key elements are technologies for space instrument engineering, satellite manufacturing, and rocket production in the interests of the digital economy, we talked about ways to collaborate in the competence of universities, academic institutions, leading enterprises. And not only the Tomsk region".
He added that the university also positioned its task as promoting of the Tomsk high-tech products to the world markets.
"We understand: if we put space as priority in the development of the Tomsk SEC, these are the most modern technologies and solutions that should be introduced not only in space programs. We signed various agreements. For example, in one of them there were 14 universities of our profile to create a collaboration in the interests of cosmic problems solving", - Shelupanov summarized.

Earlier it was reported that TSU became one of the coordinators of creating a network accelerator model for the National Technology initiative (NTI) projects development in the leading universities of the country. This agreement was also the result of the “Island 10-22” educational intensive course.
According to the rector, TSU signed during the "Island" 10 agreements on cooperation in various fields with the universities of the country.
"But the main result, in my opinion, was the harmonious collaboration of teams of the Tomsk universities. Colleagues shared their impressions that it was also important for them to work together at this level. We agreed that in November we will hold a joint strategic session on the design of this cooperation within the framework of the "Big University" project", - Galazhinsky summarized.
