developments that could later grow into joint projects. More details – are in
the material of RIA Tomsk.
According to the
regional administration, the roadmap for cooperation between SIBUR and the
Tomsk region has been in force since 2016. Over the years, the holding has
purchased 2.8 billion rubles worth of products in the Tomsk region.
Promising areas
As a RIA Tomsk
correspondent reports, on Wednesday the SIBUR delegation and the head of the
Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin visited the polytechnic (TPU) and classical (TSU)
universities, as well as University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics
(TUSUR). Each university presented its developments in the field of polymer
production, 3D printing and robotics, production of catalysts, 3D computer
simulation, the latest generation communication systems and others.
"The
delegation of SIBUR holding visited three Tomsk universities today (on
Wednesday). We have not yet concluded agreements with Tomsk universities on
specific projects. We can talk about a large number of reserves, which can
subsequently grow into real projects", – Nomokonov told reporters.
According to
Zhvachkin, the Tomsk region and SIBUR are systematically working on the
implementation of the roadmap: "Recently, we went to the SIBUR development
and training centers with university representatives. Today we are taking the
second step – we host holding specialists in Tomsk. Today we will sign the
protocol, but we will not introduce any specific projects into it".

Cross-industrial
cooperation
As previously
reported, in the spring of 2019, SIBUR became a member of the supervisory board
of the Cross-industrial Center for Joint Technological Development created in
the Tomsk region. The holding expects with the help of the scientific and
technological community of the region (universities, research centers and
enterprises in the real sector) to implement projects in the areas of
digitalization and chemical production.
According to
Zhvachkin, times when Tomsk science worked only for itself are long gone.
"When
science works on specific tasks posed by companies from the real economy, it
meets today's challenges. It just leads to the emergence of breakthrough
technologies. As part of the Cross-Industrial Center, we just combine the
capabilities of Tomsk universities, science with the needs of large companies",
– Zhvachkin stressed.
According to the
governor, in the near future, in addition to SIBUR and Gazpromneft, Rosatom and
Inter RAO will enter the Cross-Industrial Center.
