TOMSK, Oct 24 – RIA Tomsk. The Governor of the Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin met in Moscow with the leadership of the owner of the Asino Timber Industry Complex (TIC) and demanded to speed up the investment project: open a MDF plant in 2019 and start the construction of a pellet plant, the press service of the regional administration said on Thursday.

Earlier it was reported that the launch of the MDF board plant at the Asino TIC ("Ruskitinvest") was postponed several times. In 2017, the project had a new investor – Hubei Forestry Company "Fuhan" (China), which intended to complete the plant in 2019. In August, a fire occurred at the enterprise, which took more than five hours to extinguish. The fire damaged the equipment of the workshop for the production of MDF boards.

According to the press service, a meeting on the implementation of the investment project in Asino was held in the representative office of the Tomsk Region under the Government of the Russian Federation in Moscow. The manager of "Ruskitinvest", Cheng Zhan, told the Tomsk governor and the leadership of the Chinese investment company that with the arrival of "Fuhan" and the ensuing inspections, the construction of the timber industry was slowed down.

"Let’s boost the investment project. Until the end of 2019, I’m waiting for the MDF plant to be commissioned and then begin to build the pellet plant. Let me remind you that we are building the timber industry park under the Russian-Chinese intergovernmental agreement, control over it is tight at all levels", – the press service quotes Zhvachkin’s appeal to Chinese partners.

Earlier it was also reported that the first plant launched in Asinovsky district within the framework of the Russian-Chinese project to create a TIC, was in 2015 a veneer production plant. The following year, a sawmill plant was launched.
