TOMSK, Nov 18 –
RIA Tomsk. Jury of the VIII National award in the field of
event tourism Russian Event Awards 2019 recognized the Tomsk Ax Day as the best
tourist event in Russia in nomination dedicated to popularization of folk
crafts and trades; in total, 683 projects from 72 regions presented in the final,
the press service of the regional administration said on Monday.
The Russian
Event Awards – is a national award in the field of event tourism, created with
the aim of identifying the most successful projects, promoting them and
creating an interest in them from the authorities and the general public. Three
Tomsk projects took place in the final of 2019: festival of crafts "Ax
Day", gastronomic festival "On axes!" and "At Seven
Lakes" festival.
"The Tomsk
international festival of folk crafts "Ax Day" received the highest
award in the nomination "The best tourist event for the popularization of
folk crafts and trades" of the VIII National award in the field of event
tourism Russian Event Awards 2019, the final of which was held in Samara. The
jury selected the best of 20 projects", – is said in the report.
It is noted that
a total 683 projects from 72 regions of the Russian Federation were announced
for the Russian Event Awards 2019. Another Tomsk holiday was among the winners –
the family festival of folk art "At Seven Lakes" took the third place
in the nomination "Best partner (sponsor) project of a tourist event".
Earlier it was
reported that the international festival of folk crafts "Ax Day" is
held in late August in the rural park "Okolitsa" near Tomsk (the
village of Zorkaltsevo). Within the framework of the event are held
competitions among woodcarvers, ceramists, birchbarkers and potters. In 2019,
the festival was held for the 12th time, and 223 masters from 30 countries of
the world and 37 regions of the Russian Federation participated in
competitions.
It was also
reported that in 2016 the Tomsk international festival "Ax Day"
already became the winner of the national award Russian Event Awards in the
nomination "The best tourist event for the popularization of folk crafts
and trades".
