TOMSK, Mar 11 – RIA Tomsk. Tomskneftekhim (SIBUR Holding subsidiary) produced 147.2 thousand tons of polypropylene in 2019, which is a record for all the years the enterprise has existed; polyethylene production also increased by 3% compared to 2018 and product range for segment of BOPP films, packaging and medical products was expanded, the enterprise’s press service said.
Earlier it was reported that Tomskneftekhim annually carries out work to modernize its main facilities. In 2019, the plant completed a project to upgrade compressor equipment, which allowed a 35% increase in the production capacity of triethylaluminium (TEA), which is a catalyst in the production of polyethylene and polypropylene.
“According to the results of 2019 Tomskneftekhim reached a record volume of polypropylene production or the entire period of operation of the enterprise. Production volume amounted to 147.2 thousand tons of granulate, which is 5% higher than production in 2018. The growth in productivity is due to an increase in the capacity of key technological production units of polypropylene", - the report said.
It is noted that Tomskneftekhim also increased by 3% (relative to 2018) the output of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) - up to 262.5 thousand tons. The growth in volumes was achieved by increasing the productivity of the installation for the production of high-quality polyethylene film grades.
“Along with an increase in production volumes in 2019, Tomskneftekhim expanded its product range for the BOPP film segment (biaxially oriented polypropylene film, used in the manufacture of soft packaging for food and everyday life - Ed.), packaging and medical products", - emphasizes the message.
In 2019, a pool of digital tools was introduced at Tomskneftekhim's polymer plants: ECONS, intelligent video surveillance, forecasting models based on big-data technology and a number of other solutions that contributed to the increase in plant productivity, the press service said.
According to the "SPARK-Interfax" analytical system, Tomskneftekhim LLC was opened after the transformation of TNKhK in 2003. It is a subsidiary of SIBUR-Holding PJSC, which is one of the backbone enterprises of the Russian Federation. According to the results of 2018, the amount of the authorized capital of Tomskneftekhim amounted to 6.5 billion rubles, sales revenue - 12.77 billion, net profit - 1.57 billion rubles.
