map of the regional center, where they will talk about catering establishments
and specialties; the card will be available on the website of the "Guide
to the Tomsk region" service, the head of the "Creative Industries
and Tourism" project office Olga Babkina told RIA Tomsk.
Earlier, federal media reported that on March 30,
Russia closed its borders and canceled most passenger traffic due to the spread
of coronavirus infection. A number of regions of the Russian Federation imposed
restrictions on entry and exit. According to experts, in the summer of 2020,
Russians will have to abandon foreign trips, but after removing restrictions
within the country, it will be possible to travel across the regions.
"The idea of a gastronomic map was born in
conversation with representatives of Tomsk catering - heads of Tomsk
restaurants and cafes. We discussed how to tell guests and residents of the
city about specialties and establishments when walking along the tourist routes
of Tomsk", – Babkina said.
She added that the "gastronomic map" format
is developing in Russia and abroad: “For example, the Federal Agency for
Tourism (Rosturizm) launches a project on modern Russian cuisine, works today
with materials from the regions, including Tomsk restaurants and cafes. But,
unfortunately, the regional coverage still small, and here it’s important to
take the initiative ourselves".

Within the framework of the regional project, Tomsk
restaurateurs and cafe owners will talk about their specialties, as well as
about the security measures taken. The compilers of the map will supplement
existing routes across Tomsk with information about public catering
establishments and publish them in the form of a booklet on the website of the
"Guide to the Tomsk region". According to the plans, the first
collection will be ready by June.
The "Creative Industries and Tourism"
project was opened in March 2020 with the support of the regional administration.
Its specialists are involved in projects for the development of domestic and
inbound tourism in the Tomsk region, as well as projects in the field of
creative industries and are aimed at communication with business and the
public.
