TOMSK, Jul 3 – RIA Tomsk.Tomsk State University (TSU) will hold a competition for additional points
for admission among applicants who successfully pass massive open online
university courses; applications for participation are accepted until
July 20, a representative of the university's press service told RIA
Tomsk on Friday.
Earlier it was reported that due to the
coronavirus pandemic, the admission campaign at Tomsk universities in
2020 will be held online. For the same reason, the exam in 2020 will be
held July 3-23, and only those 11th graders who plan to enter
universities this year will pass it, they received certificates before
the exams. It is possible to submit documents on the results of the USE
to several higher education institutions at once, and without personal
presence.
"Additional points can be awarded to applicants
who have successfully completed their studies at the university’s
massive open online course (MOOCs). To get the diploma of the contest,
one should pass any MOOC of TSU on the platforms: National Open Education Platform, Coursera, Stepik, Lektorium, OpenProfession", - she
said, specifying that the acceptance of applications for the contest
will last until July 20.
According to her, taking online
courses that are relevant in the subject to the chosen field of study
increases the likelihood of obtaining additional points. To take part in
the competition, one need to send an application to support.openedu@ido.tsu.ru
before or during the course, receive confirmation of enrollment,
complete the online course, take a screenshot of the maximum progress
and post the photo in a special form.
After that, the applicant receives a participant’s diploma, which can be attached to the documents for admission.
The
interlocutor of the agency explained that MOOC diplomas are awarded
depending on the progress made during the course. Thus, the first degree
diploma will be awarded to applicants who have achieved 81% or more
progress, the second degree - 71-80%, the third degree - 60-70%.
