TOMSK, Aug 10 – RIA TomskTSU is recruiting students for a professional retraining program in agribusiness, implemented jointly with Wageningen University (Netherlands). Specialists of various fields are able to study here, and "profile students" - Tomsk agricultural producers – receive a 90% subsidy to pay for prestigious education. Details - are in the RIA Tomsk review.

For Tomsk and international diplomas

The MBA-Agribusiness program (MBA – master of business administration) - is the highest level in business education for the agricultural sector. It was launched by Tomsk State University (TSU) together with Wageningen University (Netherlands) - the leading research and educational center of the European Union in the field of agriculture, ecology, economics and management - in 2015.

The first two graduates releases took place in 2017 and 2019. 11 people are trained in the third set. Currently, TSU Institute of Economics and Management (IEM) invites listeners to a new, the fourth stream.

"In 2017, the program received international accreditation, which confirms that it meets the standards of AGRIMBA (an international network that coordinates MBA programs in agribusiness and trade)", - says IEM specialist Anastasia Dalibozhko.

According to her, this allows students to receive, in addition to the TSU diploma, an international MBA diploma from the European Alliance on Agricultural Knowledge for Development.

"An international diploma can be an advantage for internships abroad, or for possible employment (if there is a desire to build a career abroad). At least two foreign teachers conduct classes at each of the sets, so, of course, this is an opportunity for students to get acquainted with the advanced European experience", - she explains.

For whom

As reported on the IEM website, the program can be attended by managers, their deputies, chief and leading specialists of organizations in several areas - agribusiness, state and municipal authorities related to the agricultural sector, professional education, implementing programs in the field of agricultural economics.

"The advantage is given to agricultural producers who send their employees to study: they can receive the right to a subsidy in the amount of 90% of the program cost. The subsidy is provided by the Department for Social and Economic Development of the Tomsk Region Village", - says the agency's interlocutor.

 Program structure

For two years, students study economics and law, management, marketing, organization finance, logistics, modern agribusiness technologies and business English. They get acquainted with the advanced methods and technologies of agricultural business, with the Dutch experience of "smart" agriculture and, if they wish, undergo practical training at enterprises in European countries.

According to the organizers of the program, the IEM trainees find themselves in a unique environment for training economists, managers and entrepreneurs capable of bringing technological innovations to the global market.  And other opportunities

As Dalibozhko said, IEM has a whole list of advanced training programs that may also be relevant for agricultural enterprises of the Tomsk region: lean production, project management, personnel management, and business process automation.

"The MBA-Agribusiness program trains the management staff of agricultural enterprises, and we identified many of them with an educational request just on these topics. Additional programs can be useful to agricultural enterprises, because mastering modern technologies, practical aspects will allow managers to improve management processes at enterprises, to engage and motivate employees", - she believes.

The interlocutor of the agency emphasizes that similar programs, for example, on lean production, can be found today in many educational institutions, but IEM in this case builds an educational course for the needs of agricultural specialists.

"The toolkit is general in any case, however, for each area, one can always find application points, improve both office and production processes, reduce losses at all stages, and form a "lean thinking" among employees in relation to the enterprise", - she explains.

More information about these and other programs can be found on the IEM TSU website.
