RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) will hold an
international conference Connect-Universum-2020 in November, dedicated to the
development of universities in the post-pandemic future; the online event will
bring together experts from seven countries, the university's website reported
on Wednesday.
It is specified
that the V international transdisciplinary scientific and practical web
conference Connect-Universum-2020 will be held on November 27. Topic:
"Post-pandemic future of the University: possible models, their potential
and risks". The event will open the program of the V International Forum
of University Cities, the purpose of which is to formulate an agenda for the
development of university cities in different regions of the world.
"The
pandemic has made its own adjustments to the ideas about the modern university
and the scenarios for its further development. The emergence of new models of
the university depends on the systematization of the experience of all those
involved in its life: researchers, teachers, students, administrators and
stakeholders. TSU invites representatives of all these groups to discuss this
topic", – says the message.
According to
TSU, this year the Connect-Universum virtual platform will bring together
representatives of the academic community from the UK, Canada, USA, Italy, the
Netherlands, Poland and Russia. The conference will be held in the format of
panel discussions.
"The format
will give an opportunity to express not only to speakers, but also to
listeners. The organizers hope for active involvement of listeners in the
discussion. The working languages of the event are Russian and English.

The
Connect-Universum WEB-conference was first held in 2004. In 2012, it received
the status of an international event. The name of the conference has changed
over time, but all of its topics in one way or another related to the issues of
social communications and digital network society.
