As previously reported, the reserves of traditional oil fields in the Tomsk region are running out, in 2025 this will lead to a reduction in production from 10 to 5 million tons per year. Gazprom Neft has launched the Paleozoic project in the region to develop hard-to-recover oil reserves from pre-Jurassic deposits. According to scientists, the development of methods for prospecting Paleozoic deposits is possible by the end of 2021.
