Seversk Interglass ended the first stage of production modernization

TOMSK, Jun 7 – RIA Tomsk. The Interglass glassware plant located in Samus settlement (a part of CATU Seversk, a satellite city of Tomsk) has increased the total annual output of bottles and the share of recyclable materials used in its production modernization program; the total cost amounted to over 488 million rubles, the press service of the regional administration said.

Earlier it was reported that Seversk Interglass proceeded to the modernization of production in 2020 – th first stage (till the beginning of 2021) was the modernization of existing lines to increase the container output and its quality. At the second stage (until the end of 2022) it is planned to build the second stage of the plant.

Modern narrow-neck press-blowing technology was introduced within the framework of the modernization - with its help, high-strength bottles can be produced that are one-quarter lighter. Thanks to this, Interglass will reduce raw material and energy costs, and consumers will optimize transportation costs.

"Previously, the total annual capacity of the two glass-forming machines was 108 million products, but after the modernization it rose to 120 million. The enterprise has also increased the share of recyclable materials used in the production of new bottles from 25% to 30%," says the report.

It is noted that these factors will positively influence implementation of the Ecology national project on increase of volumes of waste recycling in the Tomsk region.

According to the press service, the total sum of investments for modernization exceeded 488 million rubles, 244 million out of which were provided by the Industrial Development Fund, which is part of the VEB.RF group.

It was also previously reported that the plant was created in 2018 on the basis of the bankrupt Seversksteklo glass manufacturing plant. The plant has two glassblowing furnaces (Czech Republic), as well as packaging lines made in France and Germany.
