TUSUR's information security programs passed European accreditation

TOMSK, Jul 15 – RIA Tomsk. Four educational programs of Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) in the field of information security received international accreditation according to the results of the examination, the university's press service told RIA Tomsk on Thursday.

"Such areas of training and specialties as "Security of automated systems", "Security management of telecommunications systems and networks", "Security of automated systems in the credit and financial sphere", "Information security of financial and economic structures" received accreditation," says the report.

It is specified that educational programs were approved by the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE). Experts assessed their content, organization of the educational process, the percentage of employed graduates and other indicators. The programs are accredited until 2026.

International accreditation will allow TUSUR to work more actively in the field of academic mobility of students and teachers, to create joint programs with partners abroad, and, in general, increase the prestige of the university, the press service explains. Graduates from these programs will have their professional qualifications recognized and will be able to participate in international projects.

"We have proven that we operate at a high level worthy of international standards. In Siberia, we really are a key university with high competencies in the field of information security," the press service quotes deputy director of the TUSUR Institute of System Integration and Security Anton Konev.

It is added that the university's programs have been previously recognized by ENAEE. Thus, in 2013, two bachelor's programs - "Innovatics" and "Electronics and Nanoelectronics" - were accredited.
