the ranking of the best student cities in the world in 2021 and became the
third of Russian cities after Moscow and St. Petersburg, according to the
website of QS (Quacquarelli Symonds).
Earlier it was
reported that when ranking the best student cities in the world according to

international student population, attractiveness of the city, activity of
employers, financial accessibility, opinion of students. In 2019, Tomsk was
ranked 73rd, in 2018 - 74th. According to the QS website, the ranking was not
published in 2020.
It is noted that
in 2021 Tomsk took the 85th place in the ranking: "One of the oldest

The list
includes four other Russian cities: Moscow (the 25th place), St. Petersburg
(the 72nd), Kazan (the 102nd) and Novosibirsk (the 107th). Thus, Tomsk is in
the third place in the Russian Federation, as it was in 2019. The top three in
the world ranking are London, Munich and Seoul.
It is added that
Tomsk also ranked sixth in the world for affordability: it is advantageous to
be a student here because of the low cost of living and tuition fees.
