TOMSK, Sep 14 – RIA Tomsk. Train No. 141/142 Tomsk - Novosibirsk, which used to run daily, since September 17 will run three times a week: on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays - from Tomsk, and in the opposite direction - on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, the press service of the Federal Passenger Company reported RIA Tomsk on Tuesday in response to an official request.
Earlier it was reported that the fast trains running between Tomsk - Novosibirsk and Novosibirsk - Tomsk were cancelled in spring 2020 due to the COVID-19 epidemic. As of 24 May 2021, the train has returned to the Russian Railways timetable. According to the press service of the Federal Passenger Company, train No. 141/142 Tomsk - Novosibirsk was running daily during the summer period and until September 13.
"To meet the existing demand of passengers for rail transportation in this direction from September 17, 2021 the above mentioned train will run from Tomsk on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays and from Novosibirsk - on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays," says the reply to the official request.
According to the website of the Russian Railways, the train will depart from Tomsk at 06.35, from Novosibirsk - at 17.30 local time.
The press service notes that train No. 637/638 Tomsk - Novosibirsk also runs on the above route with a frequency of five times a week.
