athletes won 15 medals, including 10 gold, in the finals of the
Finswimming World Cup in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt; 400 divers from 18
countries took part in the competition, the press service of the
regional administration said on Monday.
"The finals of the
Finswimming World Cup, which was attended by 400 swimmers from 18
countries, ended in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. Tomsk Region team was
represented by 13 athletes, most of them just starting their
international sport career. <...> Tomsk Region won 15 awards, 10
of which were gold ones", – the press service said.
According
to the press service, 16-year-old Diana Sliseva, for the fourth time
became the first among juniors in Apnea (AP), Immersion (IM), Surface
Finswimming (SF). The girl also took gold in the senior 4 x 100 meters
Surface Finswimming (SF).
Also Ivan Gorelov from Tomsk
took first in the Apnea (AP) and 100 m Immersion (IM), while Aleksandra
Skurlatova, Maria Nadeina and Alena Parshina also won the gold medal in
the women's relay.
The athletes study at the children's
and youth water sports school "Training and Sports Center of Water
Sports named after Victor Shevelev". The delegation in Africa was headed
by Natalia Grechikhina, President of the Tomsk Region Underwater Sports
Federation.
