Astafyeva. The student of the fourth year of the Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) Anna Andreychik suggests to apply
innovative ceramic coverings on glasses lenses – the technology will allow to
improve wear resistance and durability of materials for lenses, the press
service of the higher education institution reports.
It is noted that work in this area is connected
with basic researches of research team under the leadership of professor Efim
Oks at the TUSUR Department of Physics . The scientists found a method to apply
ceramic nanocoverings on the surface of materials, which don't carry current,
in a forevacuum in the conditions of the residual atmosphere.
"The student of the fourth year, the
employee of the laboratory of plasma electronics of the TUSUR Department of
Physics Anna Andreychik suggests to use innovative technology of application
ceramic coverings for creation of coverings for eyeglass lenses", – it is
said in the message.

The press service with reference to Andreychik
explains that the lenses made of polymeric materials gradually drive regular
glass lenses out of the market. Lenses from polymers are more shock-resistant,
they are easier and cheaper, than analogs from glass.
"They have also shortcomings: it is low
resistance to scratches, sensitivity to change of temperatures. All this
reduces the term of effective operation of the product (glasses). It is
possible to receive material on the basis of innovative technology of
application of ceramic coverings, which will become an ideal alternative to
other materials presented at this market", – the press service adds.
It is reported also that ceramic coverings
improve wear resistance, durability, also water-, grease-and dirt-resistant
properties of products, on which they are applied. Resistance of materials to
ultra-violet radiation increases. It is specified, that coverings will be
transparent and eco-friendly.
