Tomsk, Alyona Hlestunova. Scientists of Tomsk State University (TSU) developed
the device for detection of people behind barriers, which is cheaper than
foreign analogs and is more functional than domestic; it is planned to make it
more compact and to increase range of work, it is reported on Wednesday on the
website of the higher education institution.
It is specified that TSU radiophysics presented
Radiodozor at the exhibition of modern and perspective samples of arms, special
equipment and outfit in Moscow. Director of National Guard of Russia Victor
Zolotov got interested in it. He declared need to be armed with such devices
and asked to reduce the device sizes for more convenient use by investigators.

It is noted that Radiodozor defines location and
trajectory of movement of people, analyzing their movement and breath with use
of superbroadband radiation. It can be used at terrorism threat elimination,
release of hostages, and search of people under blockages and so on.
"After participation in the INTERPOLITEX-2016
exhibition we reduced the Radiodozor's size twice – it was about 1,5 meters in
length, and now it is 80 centimeters. The device weighs 7 kilograms, and its
range of action makes 7 meters", – the employee of the Department of Radiophysics
of TSU Sergey Shipilov is quoted in the message.
According to the university, the device is five times
cheaper than the Israeli analog Xaver 400. And unlike domestic analogs, the
development of the Tomsk scientists can show not only presence of a person
indoors, but also his location with an accuracy of 10 centimeters.
It is added that scientists plan to devote the closest
half a year to further modernization of the device, in particular it is planned
to reduce dimensions of the device and to increase range of its action to 20-40
meters.
