Tomsk.Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) became one of the
three Russian universities which entered top-200 of the world ranking Times
Higher Education (THE) on a share of the foreign students studying in the
university, the press service of TPU reports on Thursday.
It is specified that the list published by the rating
agency from 200 universities is headed by the American University of Sharjah
(United Arab Emirates) where study 83,7% of foreign students, Central European
University (Hungary) – 77,4%, and the London School of Economics and Political
Science – 70%.
"This list included only three Russian
universities - it is Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN), Lomonosov
Moscow State University and Tomsk Polytechnic University. In the rating Tomsk
Polytechnic University took the 194th place", – is said in the message.

It is noted that according to the rating of THE, the
share of the foreign students studying at TPU is 20,4%. In Moscow State
University (191 place) this indicator only 0,2% higher and makes 20,6%. In RUDN
the share of foreign students is 34% and in the general list the university
takes the 53rd place.
"Internationalization – is one of the priorities
of TPU development as participant of the Project 5-100, therefore advance in
the international ratings on this key indicator for us, certainly, is the
positive sign saying that we are on the right track", – the TPU rector
Petr Chubik is quoted in the message.
It is added that for the last four years the share of
foreign students in TPU grown by 1,6 times. Today there study more than 3,7
thousand students from 37 countries of the world.
