TOMSK, Oct 28 – RIA Tomsk. The
international council of the 5-100 project summed up the results of defense of
"road maps" for 2018-2020; Tomsk State University (TSU) got into the
group of leaders again, and Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) keep the place
in the second group, it is reported on the project website on Saturday.
Earlier it was
reported that TSU and TPU were included into the 5-100 project in 2013 to which
participants additional financing is allocated for increase in the
international competitiveness. They were among the universities in 2015, which
received the maximum financing – 964 million rubles. Tomsk universities were
included into the second group in 2017 and 2016, 482 and 500 million rubles
respectively were allocated to them.
Participating
universities of the 5-100 program submitted their "road maps" during
the Council on Competitiveness Enhancement of Leading Russian Universities in
Moscow in March 2017. TSU became the only not capital university which was
among leaders of the program. TPU entered the second group.
As it is
specified on the project website, 21 universities presented "road
maps" till 2020 on the 5-100 project to the International Council in
Yekaterinburg on Friday, October 27. Having analyzed priorities of development
of universities, experts kept all universities in the project, they were
divided into three groups.
"Leaders in
the implementation of programs to improve competitiveness, the 1 st group,
were: Higher School of Economics, ITMO University, National Research Nuclear
University MEPhI, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Novosibirsk State
University, National Research Technological University MISiS, Tomsk State
University", – it is said in the statement.

It is added that
TPU entered the second group. Besides, the average group included Kazan Federal
University, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, Sechenov University,
Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University, Tyumen State University
and Ural Federal University.
As participants
of the Council said, 10 indicators were considered in the rating "5-100" –
beginning from the quality of education of the accepted students to
participation of universities in grant programs. In addition, data on the
international ratings and special assessments of experts of the Council were
added to the score of educational institution.
The
International Council considers programs of increase in competitiveness of the
universities and offers them to the Ministry of Education and Science of the
Russian Federation for the subsequent state support. As the Deputy Prime
Minister Olga Golodets said to journalists following the results of the
meeting, the federal budget will annually allocate about 10 billion rubles for
the 5-100 program till 2020.
