TOMSK, Jun 14 – RIA
Tomsk. The Tomsk Branch of the Russian Geographical
Society (RGO) won a Grant of the President of the Russian Federation worth 6
million rubles to develop a part of the regional route in the Tomsk region,
Yevgeny Kovalevsky told RIA Tomsk.
"This is a
project of creating a single ring across Siberia with a patriotic purpose, to
give a chance to Siberians, Russians and foreigners to know our region. Today,
Siberia is a white spot not only for foreigners, but also for residents of the
central part of Russia. <…> The total amount of the grant ( of the
President of the Russian Federation) is 6 million rubles", – Kovalevsky
said.
As the executive
director of the Tomsk Branch of the RGO Julia Kalyuzhnaya explained in turn,
the Tomsk region in "The Golden Ring of Siberia" project is supposed
to be made "entry point" and include in it the main sights of the
region.
"These are
our key points – "Business Tomsk", "Historical Tomsk",
"Cultural and informative Tomsk", "Tomsk – cedar region".
At this stage, the regions are being expertized, we passed seven of the 12
regions of the Siberian Federal District. We will have a complete picture of
which corners of Siberia can be included from each region", – Kalyuzhnaya
