of Tomsk regional oncological clinic performed surgery on tumor removal to
patient with diagnosis "cancer of left lung of the second degree"
successfully, having applied endoscopic method for the first time; recovery of
patient goes much quicker, than with application of traditional techniques, is
reported on Department of Health website.
According to the website, hi-tech
surgery on removal of a tumor of a lung in the Tomsk oncology dispensary lasted
2 hours 15 minutes. The uniqueness of the case is that doctors have applied
endosurgery of bodies of a thorax for the first time.
"Surgeons of the Tomsk regional
oncological clinic have successfully performed difficult operation for the
patient with the diagnosis "cancer of the left lung of the II stage".
Through a small section of a thorax only 5 centimeters in size the doctors have
carried out a thoracoscopic resection of the lung injured by a tumor", –
it is said in the statement.

With reference to the manager of
oncological office of the clinic Igor Yena it is added that the patient
undergoes recovery treatment now: "process … goes much quicker (in
comparison with traditional techniques. – Ed.) and the patient will be able to
return to the usual way of life soon". It is noted that symptoms of the
disease have considerably decreased.
It is reported that the first positive
experience will allow regional health care to expand practice of application of
an endoscopic method and to make surgery of cancer of lung safer.
