TOMSK, Oct 26 – RIA Tomsk. Export of education through online courses and offline training of foreign students and strengthening of interaction with industrial partners became strategic directions of Tomsk State University (TSU) within 5-100 project; university reported on implementation of "road map" on Council of the project, the press service of TSU reported on Friday.

Earlier it was reported that two Tomsk universities – TSU and Tomsk Polytechnic University – participate in the 5-100 program since 2013. Both universities received the maximum financing – on 964 million rubles in 2015, entered into the second group in 2017 and 2016, having received on 482 and 500 million rubles respectively. TSU returned to the group of leaders and received 780 million rubles in 2018.

According to the press service, Council on Global Competitiveness of leading universities of the Russian Federation, which passes in Kaliningrad, is headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova, the vice-chairman of Council – the minister of science and higher education of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kotyukov. The delegation of TSU submitted the development strategy of the university until 2020 to the Council.

"The emphasis is placed on several key directions; one of the major is export of education. TSU enters the five of the Russian universities, which are leaders in the field of online training. More than 60 own online courses which listeners are residents of 183 countries are in an arsenal of the university … Other strategically important direction for TSU is strengthening of interaction with industrial partners", – it is said in the statement.

It is specified that the university promoted also in offline training of foreign students: citizens of 65 states study in TSU, their share among students makes 19,2%. By 2020 it is planned to increase an indicator to 25%.

Also TSU realizes about 300 research and development with the Russian and foreign companies among which there are the German national synchrotron center DESY and the Swiss center of development of new products CDNP.
