TOMSK, Oct 28 – RIA Tomsk. Quoting of scientists of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) as of October has almost twice exceeded the target indicators put for all 2018; this indicator has grown by 16,5 times in five years, physicists, biotechnologists and chemists became leaders, the head of Publication Activity Development Office of university Yulia Falkovich reported.
"Such indicator as the number of publications in the Scopus database counting on one scientific and pedagogical worker reached value 7,11 for October, 2018 that above the annual target indicators of the "road map" put at the level of 5,2. The average value of quoting has grown to 17,71 instead of put for a year 9,3", – the interlocutor of the agency reported.
She emphasized that the indicator on the number of publications per research teacher has grown by seven times (from 1,02 to 7,11) since 2014, average quoting – by 16,5 times (with 1,076 to 17,71). The largest growth occurred in the last year, it is connected with purposeful work on development of printing activity of polytechnics in the most status magazines – the first and second quartiles (Q1 and Q2).
"We started to pay attention to quality of publications, but not just to their quantity, therefore, they became more noticeable in the world scientific community. We created the environment promoting these purposes at the university, for example, started a web control system of the projects "Hirsh Rocket", held a set of events, such as School of scientific communication", – Falkovich explained.

Also international relations extended purposefully - it is not only cooperation with collaborations like CERN and KEK, but also attraction of foreign employees in the university: there were 0,9% of them in 2013, and already 7,5% in 2017. The number of scientific and pedagogical workers with PhD degree from foreign universities has grown up from eight (2013) to 77 (2018), and 26 from them have chosen TPU as a primary place of employment, and Tomsk – the place of residence.
"If only 11% of scientific and pedagogical workers of TPU knew English at the beginning of 2015, then there were nearly 50% of them by the end of the 2017th. Since 2014 publications of polytechnics enter in top-1% of the most quoted works in the world. Leaders are our scientists who are engaged in physics of high energy, biotechnologies and chemistry", – the interlocutor of the agency told.
