TOMSK, Oct 31 – RIA Tomsk. Scientists of Tomsk State University (TSU) developed a transdermal method of biologically active substances delivering into the body using an inert gas - xenon; on the basis of the development scientists together with the Tomsk nanocenter Sygma released creams that are being successfully implemented in Southeast Asia, the press service university reported on Wednesday.

"We managed to develop a technology of xenon saturation of liquids, which allows to use it as an enhancer (amplifier) for delivering biologically active and medicinal substances into the body, thereby improving the properties of ointments, creams, gels", – the press service quotes the head of the TSU laboratory of biochemistry of transport systems, the director of MIP "NONEKS" Alexander Verkhovsky.

It is reported that one of the first products developed with the use of the know-how of TSU biologists – a cream with a whitening effect – has already successfully mastered the market of Southeast Asia. It is currently on sale in Malaysia and Vietnam.

"In its promotion Tomsk citizens are supported by the UK company The Eurasia Consortium Ltd, which has offices in different countries of the world. <...> China, Japan and Indonesia are also considered as the possible markets. In all these countries, the cult of fair skin is widespread, which is considered a symbol of health, beauty and high status", – is noted in the release.

It is added that for the Russian market, scientists developed moisturizing and anti-aging creams, which are sold under the brand name ALEEXE. Biochemists are also completing the development of a new formulation based on Siberian wild plants. Along with this, continues research on the properties of inert gas.

"The results obtained in the future can be used to make a patch in which xenon acts as an enhancer for transdermal delivery and enhancing the action of drugs to patients suffering from Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and other cognitive disorders", – is noted in the report.
