31 – RIA Tomsk. All-Russian competitions "Snow Fins" start on
Thursday in Tomsk, 424 athletes from 10 regions of Russia will participate in
it, the president of Federation of Underwater Sport of the Tomsk region Natalya
Grechikhina told RIA Tomsk.
"Snow
Fins" is the most mass underwater sport tournament in the Tomsk region,
for the first time took place in Tomsk in 2011. Three times the tournament was
held as international, twice as regional, since 2018 received the status of
national.
According
to Grechikhina, competitions will take place in the pool "Zvezdniy"
from January 31 to February 3. Opening will take place on Thursday (on January
31) at 15:00 of local time, the first swims start at 15:15.
"The
pool "Zvezdniy" allows to held qualification norms, to give digit
standards and the ranks. The pool is equipped with modern electronics, such
pools beyond the Urals are not enough therefore a large number of athletes from
(other) regions comes here. These competitions became a brand (Tomsk region). I
think that they will be always popular", – Grechikhina told.

athletes from 10 regions of Russia will participate in competitions, 388 of
them will act in discipline "Fin Swimming", 36 – in discipline "Diving".
Competitions will take place in three age categories: men and women born in
2001 and older; juniors 2002-2005 year of birth and the most young participants
– young men and girls 2006-2007 year of birth, she added.
Grechikhina
noted that the team of residents of Tomsk is the most numerous – 130 people.
"This
year there was very serious alternation of generations, and the niche was
filled by young and ambitious athletes. Adult age category of participants is
the smallest, and youthful commands are totally completed. The most young and
already titled athletes, Masters of Sports can start in one swim. Thus,
continuity of generations proceeds", – the interlocutor of the agency
explained.
