TOMSK, Feb 21 – RIA Tomsk. The Tomsk region in 2018 exported agricultural products 1.9 times more than a year earlier, the deputy governor of the Tomsk region for agro-industrial policy and environmental management Andrey Knorr told reporters on Thursday.
According to the regional administration, in 2018 the region exported about 38 thousand tons of agricultural products worth more than 20 million dollars. Among the most popular export products are - peas, flax, canola, cedar oil and kernel, confectionery and jams, ice cream, carbonated and low alcohol beverages.
"Although in general the share of exports of the Tomsk region is small - only 2-3% ... growth, following the results of 2018, was 1.9 times ... So, the supply of organic products - grains, peas, rapeseed and other crops - we increased four times for the last year. Moreover, it is certified according to the EU (European Union) standards, and our enterprises are leading in Russia in this regard today", - Knorr specified.

The deputy governor noted that the supply of organic products is carried out mainly to Denmark, Holland and the UK: "Today it is important to sell not raw materials, but to sell the finished product. We are mostly set up for this. We will alos adjust and set up for this plants for the production of rapeseed and if it opens, then the plant for the production of cereals".
According to the regional administration, there are plans to increase agricultural exports threefold by 2024 - up to 100 thousand tons. The export range is planned to be expanded with pork, chicken meat, offal, as well as juices with inulin, potatoes, rapeseed oil and other products.
