Kazakhstan in 2018 increased by $ 10 million and amounted to almost $ 70
million, the press service of the regional administration said on Tuesday.
According to the press service, the consul of the
Republic of Kazakhstan in Russia Konysbek Zhusupbekov is on a working visit to
the Tomsk region. On Tuesday, April 16, the governor Sergei Zhvachkin met with
the consul.
"At the meeting, the head of the region noted
that Kazakhstan is among the three largest international partners of the Tomsk
region. In 2018, the trade turnover between our region and the republic
amounted to almost $ 70 million, having increased by more than 10 million over
the year", – is said in the statement.

It is specified that Kazakhstan mainly buys
petrochemical and forest products from Tomsk citizens, and supplies to the
Tomsk region vegetables, salt and rolled metal products. In addition, 60% of
foreign students at Tomsk universities are –- young people from Kazakhstan. "Today
there are 6.7 thousand of them, but we can train more", – Zhvachkin is quoted
in the message.
It is also reported that at the meeting the Tomsk
governor said that he had “submitted to the Russian government a proposal to
supplement the program of interregional cooperation between Russia and
Kazakhstan with activities for the exchange of experience in the robotics
industry, including the holding of robot competitions in Russia and
Kazakhstan".
