TOMSK, Jun 7 – RIA Tomsk. T2 Mobile LLC (operating under the Tele2 brand) invests 400 million rubles in 2019 in the information and communication infrastructure in the Tomsk Region, the press service of the regional administration reported on Friday.
It is noted that the governor of the Tomsk region Sergei Zhvachkin and the general director of T2 Mobile LLC Sergei Emdin signed an agreement at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
"The heads of the region and the company decided that T2 Mobile will develop its own information and communication infrastructure and increase the availability of mobile communications for residents of the region. The operator is also interested in supporting the technological development of the industry. In 2019, the company's investments in the Tomsk region will exceed 400 million rubles", – is said in the statement.

It is specified that in 2016-2018 Tele2 actively cooperated with the administration of the region in providing quality mobile communications to residents of small and remote settlements. Within the framework of this project, more than 9 thousand people were able to use communication and mobile Internet.
"In the Tomsk region there are over five hundred localities, many of which are remote from the regional centers and such elementary benefits of civilization as mobile communication. But I am convinced that the modern living conditions (cell phone and Internet – today are among the main ones) should be available both for residents of large cities, and small towns", – Zvachkin is quoted in the message.
It is added that today 97.4% of the population of the Tomsk region lives in the coverage area of the 2G network. Services of high-speed mobile Internet and voice communication in the 3G standard are available to 93.7% of residents, high-speed Internet 4G / LTE – for 81.5%.
