take part in a regional stage of the All-Russian competition "Digital
Break" which will take place on the platform of the Tomsk State University
(TSU) in a format of a 36-hour hackathon, the organizer of the stage Alina Shuvalova
reported to RIA Tomsk on Friday.
"Digital break" is a flagman project of Russia – the country of
opportunities. According to Shuvalova, the regional stage of the competition
will pass in Tomsk on June 8 and 9 in a format of a 36-hour hackathon during
which contestants will develop prototypes of digital products.
"Tomsk is a scientific education center, and in this regard the
hackathon will help development, first of all, of innovative activity in the
region. The developed projects on five tracks (health care, state services,
transport logistics, housing and public utilities, science and education) have
to help with the solution of problems of the city and the region", –
Shuvalova reported.

She added that about 200 participants are expected. By results of the hackathon
15 best teams will present the Tomsk region in the final of "Digital
break", it is planned for September in Moscow. Winners of the final will
be able to apply for financing of the project. The general prize fund of the
competition – 10 million rubles. Besides, contestants will have an opportunity
to be trained according to special educational programs.
According to the interlocutor of the agency, the first wave of hackathons
will be accepted on June 8-9 by four more cities: St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don,
Vladivostok and Voronezh together with Tomsk. Internal events will be held till
July 28 in 40 cities of Russia.
As it is reported on TSU website, the competition "Digital Break"
started on April 3. The main goal of the project is to find new shots for digital
economy across all Russia. More than 66 thousand applications from all regions
were submitted for the competition. More than 19 thousand people will take part
in regional stages in all cities.
