TOMSK, Feb
2 – RIA Tomsk. The Russian-Italian film festival RIFF will be held in March at
the Tomsk Kinomax cinema, its guest will be the head of the education office of
the Italian Consulate in the Russian Federation, Mr. Lo Porto, film critic Ada
Bernatonite told RIA Tomsk.
As reported
on the event’s website, RIFF - is the largest Italian-language film festival in
Russia: it takes place in more than 15 largest cities, with up to 25 films
annually in its program. Bernatonite said that in Tomsk this festival will be
held on March 12-22, 2020 at the Kinomax cinema. All films will go in Italian
with Russian subtitles. Screenings will be paid, but the ticket price is still
unknown.
"The
festival program is very dense. You have to admit that a ten-day festival - is
almost like any A-class festival. The Moscow film festival also lasts 9-10
days, like Cannes Film Festival, just like Venice Film Festival ... There will
be films quite interesting, such as "Napoli velata" with Giovanna
Mezzogiorno and one very handsome Italian", – Bernatonite said.
She
clarified that the program of the festival included both documentary and
feature films - dramas and comedies of the last three years. Themed "Days
of Rome" and "Days of Naples" are also planned. The festival
will open on March 12 at 19.00 with the film "Ti presento Sofia".
Within the framework of the festival, the head of the education office of the
Consulate of Italy, Mr. Lo Porto, who promotes the Italian language and culture
in Russia, will come to Tomsk.
"He wants
to meet with representatives of universities, schools, really wants to know if
Italian is taught in schools, but as far as I remember, this is not in Tomsk.
And he’s even ready to attend foreign language courses where Italian is taught
or could be taught in the future", – she said.
As an
employee of Kinomax clarified to RIA Tomsk, the festival will be held in Tomsk
for the first time. The program will appear on the cinema website next week.
