TOMSK, May 26 – RIA Tomsk. Applicants of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) from June 20 will be able to apply for admission through the portal of public services and its own portal of TPU for applicants to minimize the risks of spreading COVID-19, the first vice-rector of TPU Andrey Yakovlev said during an online conference at "Russia Today".
Earlier it was reported that the unified state exam (USE) due to the coronavirus pandemic for applicants to universities will begin on June 29, including in the Tomsk region. Today, only those eleventh graders who intend to enter universities will pass it. Certificates will be issued to all graduates - even those who are not going to take exams.
On Tuesday, May 26, a multimedia online conference was held on the "Russia Today" portal, attended by rectors and vice-rectors of the country's leading universities, dedicated to the release of the annual interactive resource "Russian Universities: Entrant Navigator 2020" allowing applicants from all over the country to get all the necessary information about admission to more than 650 Russian universities in the conditions of the pandemic.
“TPU is ready to start accepting documents from applicants from June 20. This can be done in two ways - through the portal of public services and through TPU’s own portal for applicants. Now there is a hot line in TPU, by calling on which applicants and parents can find out all the details of admission to university", - Yakovlev said during an online conference.

The conference was also attended by the vice-rector for academic affairs of Moscow City University, the rector of Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, the rector of Tyumen Industrial University, the rector of Siberian Federal University, the vice-rector of MIET for international activities and youth affairs, and the rector of South Ural State University.
As the TPU press service later reported, 1174 state-funded places for bachelor's degree programs were opened at the university this year, 176 for specialist's studies, and for master's and postgraduate studies - 1151 and 172 places respectively. Applicants will have a choice of 24 bachelor's degree directions courses, five - specialist's studies and 33 - master's degrees programs.
