TOMSK, Aug 18 – RIA Tomsk. Protective screens made of plastic or glass will appear in some classrooms of Tomsk State University (TSU) in the new academic year to minimize the possibility of COVID-19 infection, the university's website reported on Tuesday.
Earlier it was reported that the educational process in the 2020-2021 academic year in the conditions of a pandemic will be implemented in intramural form of study, but students will have to enter the campus gradually. From September 21, freshmen will start studying in a mixed format, from October 26 - other courses.
"In several classrooms, we will try to install screens on each educational place - it is transparent plastic or glass, which is fenced off the classroom so that students minimize contact with each other. We will consult with Rospotrebnadzor whether it will be possible to remove the mask behind the screen. It is not possible yet", - TSU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Evgeny Lukov is quoted on the website.

According to him, all students on the campus must wear masks in accordance with the Rospotrebnadzor order: "But it is difficult to sit in them for two or three double classes, so there will be an experiment with screens".
He added that the classes will be organized by day: days of intramural classes and days using distance learning methods. This is due to the sanitization of classrooms and the number of students who can be accommodated on the campus in compliance with all standards.
In this case, the duration of double classes and breaks will not change. Students will study in one classroom, without going through corridors and buildings (if these are not laboratories using special equipment). Two or three double classes in a row will pass in intramural form of study, then a big break, surface treatment, and only after that the next group will be able to enter for two or three double classes.
