TOMSK, Oct 15 – RIA Tomsk. One of the oldest universities in Europe - University of Debrecen - will become the first Hungarian partner of Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) in the field of international nuclear education; the memorandum of cooperation was signed yesterday at an online meeting, the TPU press service reported on Thursday.
"Tomsk Polytechnic University, with the support of the Rosatom State Atomiс Energy Corporation, signed a memorandum of cooperation with University of Debrecen. Universities will cooperate in the field of training personnel for the nuclear industry and develop the exchange of students and teachers", - the statement said.
According to the press service, Acting Rector of TPU Andrey Yakovlev and Rector of University of Debrecen Zoltán Szilvássy put their signatures on their copies of the document. The online meeting on October 14 was also attended by representatives of the Rosatom State Atomiс Energy Corporation and the private institution Rusatom International Network.

It is added that cooperation within the framework of the memorandum will help not only to create and develop a system of academic mobility of students and university professors, but also provide an opportunity for nuclear students from Hungary to gain skills and competencies in practical work at the TPU Nuclear Research Reactor.

With reference to the Acting Rector of TPU Andrey Yakovlev it is specified that University of Debrecen will become the first Hungarian partner of the university: "Our universities share common values, and I hope that today's meeting will be the first step towards successful and fruitful cooperation in the field of nuclear education", - Yakovlev is quoted by the press service.
According to the press service, the system of international nuclear education for training personnel from partner countries of the Rosatom State Atomiс Energy Corporation at TPU is being built since 2015. It is based on a complex of English-language educational programs for graduate and postgraduate studies, as well as professional training programs for personnel of nuclear facilities, including centers of nuclear science and technology.
