TOMSK, Mar 28 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk JSC Sibkabel together with research design and technological cable institute (RDTCI) developed a new petrosubmersible cable, which will be easier, more compact and cheaper than analogs, the press service of the company has reported.
"Specialists of JSC Sibkabel together with the staff of PJSC Research Design and Technological Cable Institute (RDTCI of the City of Tomsk) and VNIIKP have developed a new design of a cable for petrosubmersible electric pumps", – it is said in the message.
It is specified that now "Holding Cable Alliance", which includes "Sibkabel" and RDTCI, produces a heatresistant cable for petrosubmersible electric pumps with rubber isolation in a lead cover. It is capable to work in wells deeply at a temperature to plus 230 degrees and in hostile environment, adjoining to oil, gas, salts, water. The kilometer of such cable weighs about 2 tons at the section of a vein of 16 millimeters.
Prime cost of the new cable will be 30% lower. Besides, it will be more than twice easier – 940 kilograms against 2 thousand – and more compact.
It is noted that the idea to replace a bulky lead cover on easier and durable appeared in 2011. Then the experts of VNIIKP have found the foreign company, which has developed a new type of heatpermanent isolation differing in comparative ease, durability and resistance to hostile environment. However material hasn't passed the first tests in laboratories of "Sibkabel".
After completion the new polymeric composition, which has successfully passed technical approbation and laboratory researches, has been created. In 2014 the pilot batch of the cable has been delivered to one of customers for carrying out trade tests. Today the cable has fulfilled more than 600 days without any complaints.
