TSU and TPU kept last year's positions in the 5-100 project

TOMSK, Nov 6 – RIA Tomsk.Tomsk State (TSU) and Tomsk Polytechnic (TPU) universities kept last year's positions in rating of participants of federal project on increase in competitiveness of 5-100 universities; TSU entered into the first group of the participating universities, TPU again – in the second group, is reported on Tuesday on the website of the federal project.

Earlier it was reported that two Tomsk universities – TSU and TPU – participate in the 5-100 program since 2013. Both universities received the maximum financing – on 964 million rubles in 2015, in 2016 and 2017, having received on 482 and 500 million rubles respectively. TSU in 2018 received 780 million rubles, TPU – about 480 million rubles.

"Council on Competitiveness Enhancement of Leading Russian Universities among Global Research and Education Center published consideration results (reports of the universities on execution of "road maps" of the 5-100 project) … Council recommended to the Ministry of science and higher education of the Russian Federation to continue rendering the state support to all winner universities", – it is said in the statement.

It is noted that all Russian universities participate in the 5-100 project. TSU, as well as in 2018, remained in the first group of participants of the program along with MIPT, NUST MISIS, NSU, Higher School of Economics National Research University, ITMO University and NRNU MEPhI. One more not capital participant – Novosibirsk State University (NSU) is in the group besides TSU.

TPU kept last year's positions at the second group of the participating universities of the 5-100 project. Except it KFU, RUDN, Sechenov university, SPbPU, UTMN and UrFU entered into the group. Five universities representing various regions of the country are in the group.

"Distribution of universities on three groups provides the subsequent differentiation of the state support, that is volume of the subsidy to each group of institutions allocated by the Government of the Russian Federation provided to participating universities of the project", – it is noted in the message on the project website.

Earlier it was also reported that TSU have chosen export of education through online courses and offline training of foreign students and strengthening of interaction with industrial partners as the main strategic directions on execution of "road map" of the project 5-100 this year. For TPU these are transition of the university to the principles of interdisciplinarity and cooperation in education and scientific and innovative activity.
