TOMSK, May 12 –
RIA Tomsk. The Russian stage of
RoboTraffik in 2021 will be held at the RoboCup Russia Open venue, which will
be held from May 13 to 16; at a special landfill, participants will present
automated cars they have created, including those with computer vision technology,
the event organizer - Tomsk University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) said.
Earlier it was
reported that RoboCup is a non-commercial project to promote artificial
intelligence, robotics and other areas of science and technology with the help
of robotic competitions. Since 2016, the Russian stage of the Robocup Russia
Open championship is held in Tomsk. In 2021, it will take place from May 13 to
16 at the Integration school in the Tomsk district.
It is specified
that for the first time this year, the Russian stage of the RoboTraffik
championship will be held at the RoboCup Russia Open venue in Tomsk. These are
international competitions for models of robotic cars, which were first held in
Israel in 2010. RoboTraffik will be held in Tomsk for the fourth time, but for
the first time on the same venue with the Russian stage of the RoboCup
International Championship.
"14 teams
from Tomsk, Pervouralsk, Chelyabinsk, Kansk and other cities of Russia will
take part in RoboTraffik. Many of them are the prize-winners of the
international stage of the RoboTraffik Technion, which takes place in
Israel", says the report.
It is noted that
competitions will be held in two regulations: "Robotraffic" and
"Robotraffic with сomputer vision". Participants have to create
robotic vehicles that can move independently. And in the second case - also
have сomputer vision. The training ground for competitions
was developed by the resident company of the TUSUR business incubator Popkov
Robotics.
"Unmanned
vehicles with сomputer vision systems is the urgent direction, which
is not presented in the RoboCup Russia Open championship, but it will be
interesting to our participants. I am sure that the uniting of our events is a
big step in the interests of the participants and the robotics and artificial
intellect in general", - the head of the TUSUR Laboratory of Robotics and
Artificial Intelligence Evgeny Shandarov is quoted.
As previously
reported, Robocup-2021 will be held in the three leagues: robot football, rescue
robots and shows with robots. A feature will be a large-scale online broadcast
of the championship on the YouTube channel of the event. For the first time
RoboCup-2021 will be attended by employees of the regional department of
EMERCOM who will show how robotics is used in the work of rescuers.
