TOMSK, Feb 20 – RIA Tomsk. Tomsk State University (TSU) suggests residents of Tomsk to begin to learn a foreign language in tandem; on March 1 volunteers will hold a meeting with students from the different countries which will help to master this or that language, is reported on Monday on the website of the university.

"Volunteers of TSU will organize on March 1 the Language Exchange platform, where it is possible to get acquainted with students of TSU from different countries and to find among them the partner for studying of another language. This action for all who wish to get acquainted with carriers of different languages, to communicate with them and to create language tandems", – is specified in the message.

It is explained that the tandem is a modern method of a learning of foreign languages which is based on formation of couples from two native speakers learning the native languages of each other during the personal meetings. The organizer of the event, the student from Germany Elisabeth Shtar, learns Russian for one and a half year together with the student of philological faculty.

"It is really very effective, it has very strongly helped me. Advantage of a tandem of two carriers is that the partner can explain not only conjugation of verbs, but also cultural nuances. Happens that I incorrectly assess some situation in life because of Russian subtleties, and Sasha helps me to understand", – are reported in the message her words.

It is noted that the main objective of organizers of Language Exchange was to make the platform for acquaintance. Further a lot of things depend on partners – whether they will get on together, whether they will be able to organize the time. Volunteers assume that at a meeting at TSU it will be possible to find the partner to learn of English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Chinese and, of course, Russian.

It is added that registration is necessary for participation in the event. The number of seats is limited.
